About the Owners...
My Porch Dawg owners, Alan Murphy and
AJ LeBret, started My Porch Dawg in May 2009.
Their vision was create a dog treat bakery
business offering all natural handmade dog
treats utilizing human grade ingredients that
were a healthy alternative to factory processed
treats filled with artifical ingredients and
preseratives that are so widely visible.
Before opening the bakery, Alan was a regional
manager for a national real estate company. The downturn in the real estate market provided
the perfect timing for him to follow a passion for the culinary arts, and his dog Abby was the
inspiration behind a creation of homemade dog treats which eventually grew into the vision for
My Porch Dawg. AJ was a retail store manager and has used his retail merchandising and
marketing skills in opening the flagship store in the Old Wilmington City market. AJ’s tireless
passion for working with local pet rescue groups has helped hundreds of homeless pets find
new homes. Bring your dog out to check out the pet treat bar in the downtown shop or check out
their booth at many of the local farmer’s markets or festivals. Or, if you are in search for a new
dog to add to your family, Alan and AJ can assist you with your search for the perfect rescue dog.
